MIL-PRF-46170 is a synthetic hydrocarbon-based hydraulic fluid qualified under Military Specification MIL-PRF-46170 Type I, NATO Code H-544, developed to meet the severe duty demands of military and industrial equipment. Rust inhibitors protect ferrous components while modern additive technology delivers oxidative stability, corrosion inhibition, and antiwear protection; it is designated a P-15 protectant per MIL-P-116G. It is used in armoured vehicle and artillery recoil mechanisms, hydraulic systems, snow removal and earth-moving equipment, heavy-duty construction machinery, and industrial robotic hydraulic systems, and is especially suited to applications requiring both rust protection and a high flash point for an extra margin of fire safety. Not for aviation applications.
